2026 NATO Summit: War at Any Cost?

In Ankara Turkey during the 2026 NATO Summit - a veritable war planning and financial extraction festival - "a group pretty boys in blue suits" all repeated the mass hallucination mantra that Ukraine was winning the war with Russia. "Eight Russian casualties to every Ukrainian casualty on the battlefield," tells us PM Stub from Finland. Even though Russia every day moves forward on the battlefield claiming new villages, towns, roads on all fronts while simultaneously wiping out technical, logistics, energy and weapons factories in eastern and southern Ukraine and Kiev. The aerial attacks with missiles and drones go unopposed. Yet some in NATO-stan even confidently inform us that Ukraine isn’t just winning but has already won!

Going unreported is the fact that for the first time in the four and a half year Special Military Operation, Russian officials including V. Putin himself, have begun using the word « war » rather than SMO. A citizen in Europe that is closely following the conflict should become alarmed. But not the man-boys in blue suits sporting their NATO/Türkiye lapel pins while posing for team photos on stage at the 2026 NATO summit.

Ministers received a gift box containing a rare, vintage Gumusay .357 Magnum six-shooter produced by Turkish arms maker MKE in the 1990s. Each one was personalised with their name engraved on the barrel and had a slot containing 6 live rounds of ammunition next to the gun cleaning kit. A fitting, and no doubt practical souvenir, given the generally agreed 2029-2030 launch date for war against Russia. One should expect patient but rational Russia will accelerate actions to upset or even defeat NATO’s timetable.  If war is inevitable in 3 or 4 years as most western military and political heads claim here and there and the investment timelines correspond, why wait for Europe to be well-armed locked and loaded?

The NATO summit in Ankara was an orgy of signing of a variety of multi-national industrial contracts. Keynsism has never had such an enthusiastic and spectacular illustration.

Over 50 billion euros of military procurement deals were signed during the concurrent Defense Industrial Forum. It was presented as a high production-value show featuring monumental video clips of sunlit missiles and military airplanes racing through fluffy clouds in the wild blue yonder. An amplified, catchy melody signaled  introductions and transitions by name of ministers and of special team members to and from the main stage. Bounding and scurrying through a precise choreography of photo ops, manly handshakes, hugs, back slapping with especially bright-toothed radiant smiles, perfect hairstyles and fabulous blue suits.

Belgium committed 13 billion euros to full fill the Ankara "baseline" out of a projected €24.7 billion earmarked for short-term capability development through 2029. What’s left of 2026 is the purchasing phase of the joint procurement package with the Netherlands for NASAMS, SkyRanger, and Thales GM200 radar arrays to construct a brand new air defense architecture. 2027 will see the Initial Capability Integration and the delivery of its first leased NASAMS air defense systems from Norway''s Kongsberg to shield the port of Antwerp, NATO HQ and other critical targets. For 2028 the belgians will experience what is called the Personnel Expansion Peak.  Described as « driving human capital investment to scale up operational readiness. » The target is 34,500 active military personnel and multiplying by three the civilian logistics workforce by the early 2030s. In 2029 we will have the « NATO Check-In & Pivot. » It is called the « terminal year of the current spending plateau. » This will coincide with the formal alliance-wide review of the new 5% target trajectory. At this point, Belgium intends to procure three more long-range air defense systems to fully interoperate with Dutch Patriot missile batteries.

Defense Minister Théo Franken, advocate of “Belgian military Keynesianism,” vs. Théodore Postal, proponent of “missile realism” from MIT… The former claims to be protecting Belgium, while the latter asserts that he has analyzed missile interception systems, including the famous Patriot—which is once again out of stock in Ukraine. He concluded that the Patriot is completely ineffective against hypersonic missiles and performs very poorly against ballistic missiles, which are now commonplace not only in Russia but also in Iran...

The european participants in the Ukraine war with Russia could be targetted if Russian leaders become exasperated or decide it is best to strike first before its enemy has had time to build more strength. It is calculated that one strike into NATO-stan’s interior would serve to wake up all of Europe : political elites and populations. In this case Europe would either invoke NATO’s article 5 and commence open hostilities with Russia bringing bring vast devastation and death once again to the continent, or… the warning shot would bring leaders out of their hypnotic slumber-walking towards catastrophe. Europeans will suddenly be faced with the decision of war or peace.

Assuming that the collective West makes the rational decision to negotiate a continent-wide security agreement with Russia and avoid all-out war, we could then view this Russian attack as a last-ditch attempt to force the West to save itself—and the rest of the world—from a catastrophe that could lead to the extinction of the human race.
