That''s what it says in black and white in the US intelligence community''s official annual "threat assessment" report.

You read that right: "Russia certainly does not want a military conflict", and this is not the propaganda of Putin''s paid trolls.

What then is the meaning of these statements by Western leaders warning in unison of the threat of Russian attack on Europe? "If we leave Ukraine alone, if we let Ukraine lose this war, then Russia will certainly threaten Moldavia, Romania and Poland," asserts Macron. "A Russian victory in Ukraine would be fraught with threats for its European neighbors," added Ursula von der Leyen.

The militarization of the European Union is not going fast enough in the eyes of NATO''s war-mongering leaders.

A major European loan of 100 billion euros is announced, "to strengthen defense". But preparing minds for war is clearly not progressing as these leaders would like. While it''s quite clear that "Russia certainly doesn''t want a military conflict", several Western leaders, faced with the Ukrainian catastrophe, seem to be seriously considering this option. "If the situation deteriorates, we''ll be ready so that Russia never wins," says Macron. "Ukraine must win. Russia must be defeated. Russia must be destroyed" hammered his Latvian counterpart.

The war-mongers'' confidence is based on NATO''s material superiority over Russia: "We don''t have a great power facing us. (...) [Russia''s] GDP is much lower than that of the Europeans, lower than that of Germany or France", says Macron. And it is factually right - demonstrating the inconsistency of the "threat of a Russian attack": the defense budget of the Nato countries is 1,200 billion euros. 14 times that of Russia. The population of the European Union alone is 3 times that of Russia.

The war propaganda spouted day after day gives Russia and its leaders a distorted, monstrous, delirious image. It aims preparing minds for war.

We must realize that long-term peace in Europe and the world will not come from the desire to maintain the domination of one side over the other at all costs; it will not come from the destruction of the "enemy", today Russia, tomorrow China, "systemic challenge of NATO". Peace can only be achieved if we recognize that the security concerns of the "other" are legitimate. There can be no long-term security in Europe as long as the security of the other side is scornfully denied.
